animal Elephant Care Relief

The Elephant Care Relief, a project set up in Sri Lanka, whose sole focus is the physical and mental health of Domesticated Elephants. They are determined to make a change to the conditions currently faced by all of Sri Lanka’s Domesticated Elephant population. The ECR aims to create a paradise where they can properly focus on the welfare and well-being of these elephants, letting them live out their lives in peace, as free as possible.

In mid-2025, ahead of our second trip to Sri Lanka, I spent a lot of time researching ethical elephant projects there and reached out to a few of them. After a wonderful email exchange with Nera and making a few donations following the heavy rains and flooding in early 2026, we decided to visit the ECR.It was a truly wonderful visit, and that is when these photos were taken.Thank you to the ECR, Nera, and Mali! :)
